The Supreme Observer

The EU-funded project Pravo-Justice supports the development of the rule of law in Ukraine by aligning judicial institutions with the highest European standards. In cooperation with the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the Pravo-Justice team initiated the creation of an official informational media platform - The Supreme Observer - designed to serve both the professional legal community and the wider public.

The objective of the initiative was to design and launch a clear, accessible, and reliable media platform capable of communicating the work of the Supreme Court in a transparent and structured manner. The platform provides timely information about court activity, analytical reviews, thematic digests, and editorial content, ensuring that judicial developments are presented with accuracy and contextual depth.

In addition to news and editorial materials, the platform includes a system of recommended links to official registers, access to the Legal Position Database — also developed by Smotrow Design — as well as educational content tailored for students and younger audiences. This extended structure allows the platform to function not only as a news resource, but as a broader informational and educational environment.

Following a competitive tender process and an evaluation of multiple national design and technology firms, their portfolios, and technical expertise, the selection committee entrusted Smotrów Design with the development of the Supreme Observer platform.

As a result of this collaboration, we delivered an informational media platform that provides judges, lawyers, legal professionals, and the general public with accurate, structured, and relevant information about the activities of the Supreme Court. Through current news, expert commentary, and thematic content, the platform contributes to countering disinformation while strengthening transparency, openness, and public trust in Ukraine’s judicial institutions.
